New live album
Darko Rundek&Cargo Orkestar Live u Domu Omladine was recorded during the Serbian leg of the promotional tour for the album MHM A-HA OH YEAH DA-DA.
The concert was peppered with songs from various periods of Darko Rundek’s work, many of which the Belgrade audience knew by heart. Brilliant atmosphere.
International release, Live in Youth Club - Belgrade came out 25th of September 2009. Main distributor is Piranha Musik - Berlin.
NEW COLLABORATION
A week long rehearsal session in the village of Bukovac, near Novi Sad, (Vojvodina, Serbia,) marked the beginning of the collaboration between the Rundek Cargo Trio and the Boris Kovač & La Campanella. In the excellent accoustics of Boris's studio in the old village house with its leafy courtyard, two bands and two authors met to explore their points of common resonance. The 45 minute set which they put together will form the third part of their joint concert to be presented in Croatia, Russia and Italy this summer.
New release of the book of poems UHOVID/EARSIGHT
7th of May, DR released his new, extended book of poems and lyrics UHOVID/EARSIGHT, published by Durieux – Zagreb.
Included in the book are all his song lyrics from the earliest albums, songs for theatre shows and movies, as well as other poetic works.
Coming to a cinema (quite) near you !
Cargo’s faithful already know well the skills of Biljana Tutorov, whose improvised video projections during the concerts explore the musical imagery and the cinematographic dimension of Darko's poetry.
Biljana is currently putting the finishing touches to an action adventure movie, based on the Rundek Cargo Orkestar story. Keep a look out for it on international film festivals; or better still, watch this space for details.

Music for Doll Ship, by Milena Markovic
Ana Tomovic directed Doll Ship, by Milena Markovic, at the Serbian National Theatre of Novi Sad, with songs and music composed by DR. The score was performed live on stage by a five piece band made up of accordion, percussion, double bass, guitar and flute, and sung by the actors. Opening was 24 September 2008.
A studio-recorded CD with 12 songs from the show is released 2nd of November
